Talia celebrates New Year's through an iPad

Because we became Facebook-official so close to the beginning of winter break, the two of us agreed that introducing each other to our parents for the holidays wasn't a great idea. The only time we got together during that break was to celebrate New Year's eve.

We both drove from our hometowns to Eastcity to have our own little party. Just the two of us. My neighborhood was mostly college students and so was the building I lived in, so it felt like a ghost town, like we had the block to ourselves. I didn't own a TV, so we instead found a Youtube video of a past New Year's celebration and watched it on his iPad over the wifi. Our timing probably wasn't perfect, but we didn't care. Maybe we wrung in the new year a minute or two early or late. But neither of us were really checking the time. It was a very good night.

That's when I started to like him. That night I was filled with visions of us together for a long time. So it's very sad that the next semester had to take such a bizarre turn.
