You're new here. Welcome. You click write. You aren't 100% sure what you're doing yet. You may even forget to swap out the words My Draft for your title. Luckily, you can edit it later.

You click in where it says Type your text. Now you know what to do. Objectively, your only real job is to make that -200 in the top right corner eat itself up. One word at a time.

If you're a fast typer with opinions and ideas you're probably fine. Do you already have a habit of getting up each day and looking forward to organizing your mind by dumping armfuls of words into a document? Do you have a system in place so you don't forget to open the 200WaD site? Not yet? Set a reminder. This is real.

Maybe you're one of those smug, twenty-somethings nomadding about in Chiang Mai and getting your words in while some fresh-squeezed mango juice is delivered to your table. You've got the everyday.app opened and you're scratching out Pieter Levels-like ToDos one after another. You're shipping like crazy.

Well good for you. Again. Welcome to the word party. But, I want to caution you.

You think it might be difficult to have something to write each day. You might get distracted in that first five minutes before your mind and fingers get warmed up and start to feel the rhythm in userspace by The Algorithm (spotify.)

But, like a morning routine of pushups or jogging -- oh the joggers. Those folks in nothing but silky running shorts and mittens in the dead of winter. I can now see how it could happen to me — to all of us. Because if you show up enough. If you get over that hump enough. You'll experience writer's high. And then, 200 words a day will not be enough. It'll suck you in. Beware. There's a Dyson-like pull back to the start of the hill each day and then a cyclonic vacuum starting in your mind to get you over the hill. It's addictive. It's productive. Best of all. You'll have something to show for yourself by this time next year.

Welcome to 200Wad. Just remember, if you do it right. It sucks (you in.)

@basilesamel - definitely clickbait. But there's got to be some word that means something that's good and gets overused and then becomes bad. :-)

I totally agree with the '200 words a day will not be enough' sentiment.

And I think this is great because, hey look if you don't think 200 words a day is enough then go write more offline. And really condense however much you write offline into 200 words of truly refined writing.

I think that's the way to go. Instead of flooding 200WAD with a ton of words and posts, write a ton offline, or on 200WAD.com Pro version, and then condense it into a really well refined drip of 200 words.
