A couple of days, I wrote a post about finding three books that I could apply before the end of this year.

I started to do deep research to find the best three books.
I already knew the areas that I needed to focus on to create change.

The goal is read and re-read the 3 books until I completely understand the ideas. And then implement the suggestions while tracking my progress. And with time and tracking, tweak the suggestions until it becomes second nature to me.

I initially select a few books. But immediately felt overwhelmed about the books I left out instead of focusing on the ones I selected.

So I decided to change the way I was going about my selection. I picked possible ten books first. Then decided to listen and read the book summaries for the ten.

Once I did that, I was able to rule out certain topics that wouldn't be the best thing for me to focus on right now.

I ended up with these three books that I believe would make a very dramatic shift in the quality of my life.

1) Diabetes Solution
2) How to fail at everything and still win big
3) Dare to lead

@keni I freaking LOVED the Scott Adams book. Love the approach of reading book summaries first. I often do that. I've started only planning one book ahead to avoid the overwhelm. I know the book I'm reading now and I let myself pick the next one. I have a few that are in consideration but I've found the most comfort with this system. Will you continue to document your process on 200wad?

@rosieodsey - I am almost at 50% of Scott's book though I have listened to almost all his videos and podcast interviews. I love the book so far and I should finish it in a couple of days.

I have read 50% of the 3 books I picked so the next few weeks I should move on to the next phase of identifying the action items. I think this process of sharing and challenging myself helps stick with it. I will definitely document the steps.

I think just these 3 books alone can bring about a significant impact so I am excited.

Thank you again for your piece for making me want to do this.

@abrahamKim - lol. I think taleb is more interesting hands down. I think Scott is beginning to lose his touch but the book is his best work. I spent significant time to look into the topic to identify that it's exactly what I need
I think Talebs work may be for part 2 of this experiment... More at a macro level than what I need right now.
