You start a project, you are very excited, fresh and full of new ideas. But then a month passes by, and you realize you didn't even start! That was the case with me for a long time. I have a ton of unfinished projects, and even more of those that never were started.
I've been overthinking everything and not building stuff, and now I'm changing. I start the project as soon as possible, but not only that: I also aim to finish it as soon as possible! That's the strategy that helps me not think about the details for too long and finish the things that I'm building.
“If you were not embarrassed by your launch, you launched too late.”
So now I'm not going to wait for the perfect state, because I learned that there is no perfect state. It's better to launch early and learn from feedback.
Today I made the Figma URL shortener to work! I haven't finished the UI yet, so I cannot release it now. Also I'm a bit afraid that if people start using it and I will need to change something in code or even change the server — it will be problematic. But I doubt that many people will use it at the beginning so it should be fine if it will not be working for some time. It doesn't have to be perfect.
By the way, what do you think of the figma.fun domain for the link shortener?
