I walked away as fast as I could. I was almost shaking. I had to find Theo and come back down.

I don’t believe it even when I am writing to you know. How paths can cross.

As you know, I grew up in a jazz bar. The thing with jazz is that it is incredibly improvisational. What happens on that stage will never happen again, it requires everyone in the band to be on the exact same wavelength and beating the same beat.

And in many ways what happened was like that. It was meant to happen but then again it will never happen again.

I breathed out. It became strangely empty. I looked to the dark and kept searching.

I feel my phone buzz.

“Meet me by the benches”

I turn around in circles and finally find them - aluminum bleachers.

Theo was already there, leaning back and dragging on a cigarette. He still had his sunglasses on, of course.

I take a seat next to him and pull the cigarette out of his mouth and start sucking on it myself. We don’t say anything. We just sit there for a while passing it back and forth until it was burnt to the cotton filter.
