I was disturbed today to learn that Buzzfeed published an article detailing allegations of abuse and harassment by Tony Robbins. Lest you be mislead, Buzzfeed is NOT a reputable news source. Don't take my word for it, just look at the research. If you want cute stories about cats, by all means go to Buzzfeed. If you want trustworthy news, look elsewhere.

I am not going to link to the Buzzfeed article, but I will link to Tony's statement on Medium. You can read the Buzzfeed article and Tony's response and judge for yourself.

Full disclosure: I have seen Tony Robbins live. I have purchased his books and training materials. I believe in his mission and what he does to help people all over the world. In fact, last night I watched a video from Tony that was delivered to people who purchased the Knowledge Business Blueprint course. The topic of this video will be a future post.

I still believe in innocent until proven guilty. If Tony did something he shouldn't have, then he should be held accountable.

You have to be careful where you get your news. You also have to be careful about what you are paying attention to. Consider the source of information and whether there are ulterior motives at play.

    @brandonwilson - Wow. My staying away from news is helping me stay sane. Apparently the world has gone insane. The click bait nature of everything today is frightening as Tony put in his response. For someone like him where there is a huge impact on his reputation, something like this will have an effect regardless of being true or false.

      @keni Completely agree with you about staying away from the news. I had heard this from someone I know and had to investigate.

    @brandonwilson wow, that's insane. Powerful response by Tony, as expected. I'm on his side for sure. This is insane to dig up stuff from 20-30 years ago !?#$

      @brandonwilson @jacklyons

      I initially felt inclined to be on Tony's side as well. But then I thought of it. If I'm on his side, that implies like I'm conditionally supporting him on the grounds of his virtue... which means that I would have to like not like him if he were to be guilty.

      I don't know him personally and so I don't think that it matters if these allegations are true or not. to me i like him for the work he's done, so even if these allegations were true I think I'd still enjoy his work for the work.

      I know there's a big debate about this over time. Like are you allowed to enjoy or learn from soething that was created by 'bad' people. And to me, I'm on the side that you still can and should.

      so i'm not on tony's side on this, because choosing a side implies a battle where one is open to changing sides. For me, it's just I still like Tony's work.

      @brandonwilson @abrahamKim Good point, and I agree with you for sure. Regardless of him being "human", as we all are, it's his work and life's mission that I will always stand behind. I mean, who hasn't made stupid life choices in their 20's? So if it is true, then lets hope Tony and everyone involved can get past it amicably. Either way, he's a legend and has more lovers than haters. The media are going spin this every single way possible because they know it's the ultimate clickbait ... I hope this works out
