In the dictionary the word "idea" is categorized as a noun. From a grammatical perspective this is correct. Ideas are things. But ideas are not worth anything until you take action on them.

I like to watch the show Shark Tank. Each episode, entrepreneurs pitch ideas to millionaires and billionaires known as the "sharks" to see whether any of them want to invest in the products/companies. I was talking with a buddy about one of the ideas from the show and he said, "See, I had that idea years ago! I knew it was a great idea!" The problem is his idea remained a noun. He did nothing with it, and someone else had the same idea and ran with it.

Ideas without action aren't really ideas. They're regrets.

Every day I have ideas. You probably do too (except maybe @jasonleow ;). Unfortunately, hesitation and uncertainty stop us from acting on these ideas. For me, it's been fear of the unknown and fear of failure.

I have learned to think of the word "idea" as a verb. Not all ideas are great ideas. In fact, most of them are probably not even good. Let those ideas remain as nouns. But the good ideas and the great ideas need to be transformed into verbs. The way you transform an idea from a noun to a verb is to take ACTION.

I will never achieve my goals if I let fear or uncertainty get in the way. I refuse to let great ideas turn into regrets.

@brandonwilson Ideas are a dime a dozen. Taking action "priceless."

@brandonwilson haha is "i still don't know what to write" becoming my signature move now? :D

"Ideas without action aren't really ideas. They're regrets." - love this btw! Last year I did a project where I made a product a month, precisely because I accumulated too many regrets and it's eating away at me inside. Much happier now after ticking off those! So it's true!

@jasonleow Well you are dangerously close to being typecast. I'm glad you were able to knock those projects out and gain some satisfaction.
