So, as I just wrote...

For example:

full of nutrients, antioxidants, reducing blood sugar, easing menopause symptoms, supporting memory and brain health, protecting against certain cancers, alleviating diarrhoea (I still am not a fun of sage tea! NOR diarrhoea!!!), can have also serious negative effects. For example one of its chemicals - thujone - can be poisonous if in bigger quantities, causing seizures and damaging liver and nervous systems. It helps with menstruation, on the other hand

can cause a miscarriage

or reduce mother’s milk supply. Might lower too much blood sugar levels in people with diabetes, and cause hypoglycemia. Or interfere with blood sugar control during and after surgery (It's recommended to stop using common sage as a medicine at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery). Also Spanish sage might have the same effects as the female hormone estrogen, dangerous in hormone-sensitive condition such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids. Spanish sage might increase blood pressure, while common sage might lower blood pressure. It is NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD, it just is.

To benefit from anything, to use anything, one needs to posses COMPREHENSIVE KNOWLEDGE and be MINDFUL!

@lucjah Possessing comprehensive knowledge and being mindful... it's an admirable goal. Both qualities, ALWAYS? It sounds out of reach 😊 We have to do with limited and faulty knowledge, and face repeated oblivion. Still we can benefit from things, and use some in a positive manner, so all hope is not lost! 😝

@lucjah and I'm sort of teasing you, I love this post and I'm curious now about sage. I only tasted in cuisine from Rome🍝 <3
