Between everything we have to do in daily life, it can be hard to find the time to dedicate to your passions and goals. Working a 9-5 is exhausting and spending the little time your left with after working is a hard sell.
I try to look at the reasons I want to work on my own projects. I'd like to potentially make some money and get to financial independence. Most importantly to me though is the act of creating itself. There's a rush I get from creating new stuff that few things can match. In the long term creating for a living is my goal and putting a few extra hours working to achieve that is worth it to me. It doesn't feel like extra work most of the time, it feels like any other hobby.
For everyone, that reason will surely be different. But I believe it's important to keep your own personal motivation in mind at all times especially in the lows we all have. As long as you're working on something you truly enjoy you can find an hour or a few minutes to dedicate to it. You don't have to work an additional 3/4 hours at it every day. Even if you just have a few minutes, it will all add up eventually and get you closer to your destination.
