Gather me up and whisk me away

Off to where the unicorns play

Whisper so soft into my ear

And tell me I should have no fear

Drift way up high above the clouds

Away from the noise and away from the crowds

Float right on past a flock of gulls

Replace our thoughts with blanks and nulls

Just up ahead shine rays of light

Reds, blues and greens so bold and bright

The wind blows hard but makes no sound

Sweet music's heard from all around

We dip and dive and float some more

Heading towards a sandy shore

Upon the beach grow rows of flowers

We smell their scent, we sense their powers

Gently now do set me down

On a blanket soft here on the ground

Let's lay awhile...stare at the sky

No clocks do tick, no time goes by

Our minds are blank, no thoughts to think

Glasses appear from which we drink

The nectar there so cool and sweet

Now how about something to eat

A double blink and there's a plate

Piled high with food, it all smells great

Gobble up pears and figs and cheese

As many berries as we please

We eat until our bellies round

Paradise indeed we've found

Hop up and run to dip our toes

In the silvery pond where flamingos pose

We dive into the shimmering pool

It feels so warm and yet so cool

Floating again we close our eyes

Then above the water we start to rise

I know its time, we must head back

The world is waiting for us

So enough with the silly rhyming stuff. Just get up and go to work already would ya.

@Rawhead The last two lines are the needle scratch on the vinyl record! I'm not a big poetry person, but I enjoyed this one.

@brandonwilson yeah, just some random groggy rhyming, but the twist occurred to me right at the end. Thanks for reading.
