Jean-Michel Basquiat was a NY graffiti artist turned internationally recognized painter in 1980s. Recently, one of his paintings was sold for $110.5 million setting a new record at the auction for an American artistπŸ‘‡πŸ½

His artwork has this childish style that we tend to forget as we grow up. Here are four of my favorites so far and my thoughts on it:

  • Untitled (Julius Caesar on Gold), 1981
    • A guy with a "king hat" taking over a place with his tools.
    • I like how the main focus is on his tools and some what plain background that represent how Julius Caesar operated back in the day.
