I grew up in my Uncles' house.

Not just me.

At a point, we numbered 16 foods on the dining table. We weren't always that much. My Uncle lives in his house in Lagos - Nigeria's premier "big city". That means most extended family members who have business or two in Lagos have a place... finish it yourself.

Those of us actually living in the house, including my Uncles' children, were quite a collection.

For me, the best parts of family time were those nights when there's no light (read no power). My elderly ones would argue over a lot of things, politics, sports, academics, Nigeria, movies, music etc. I only needed to get to my school the next day, regurgitate what I heard the other night and I'd look smart.

Looking smart 101, I learnt that quite early.

The brothers I loved the most, were those gave me attention. I remember one particular night, one of my brothers who was in university then, was literally narrating to me the entire season 1 of Prison Break. Telling me about the awesome Micheal Scofield and the rest of them.

For whatever reason I can't seem to forget that night, there was no light, as usual.

@seunoyebode - Ahh this is a nice personal one Seun. I would love to be able to recreate what you describe with the get together of family debating everything.

    I loved reading this Seun.
Can we have more of these - Please?

@keni I sincerely hope to recreate also, in hindsight I think what helped was the fact that we didn't always have electricity.

These days, gadgets and devices would make that difficult

Dude did you end up liking Prison Break and Micheal Scofield too?

I lovved Michael scofield. His like grimacing stare and the soft whispering voice and the way he walked and the shaved head.

@abrahamKim oh, I ended liking Michael Scofield. He is such a genius. Loved his hair, loved all of his plans.

I might see Prison Break again, one of these days.

If you liked PB, do check out Money Heist on Netflix, you'd love it also.

And never. I revisited prison breaks sevral years ago and found it horrible. Lol i did love it while watching it as a young lad but im afraid my taste has changed a bit too much to enjoy it and money heist. Still ill check out money heist just in case next time that i need to relax a little
