There wasn't anything interesting on my mind today.  I thought today's post will be unremarkable.

Then I get a call from my real estate agent.
She says, 'I have some bad news.'

Yesterday, I pre-signed on a house that I was selling.
My first property flip that I bought with my family in April.
Fixed it up and put it on the market.
We immediately got offers and went under contract.

At exactly 1130am today, the buyer was scheduled to sign the papers to finalize the sale. And at 11am - their lender decided to deny the loan.

Apparently, something like this never happens.

I had called all the utilities to end service by tomorrow. I had made plans on what to do with the proceeds. I had already started to eye another property to flip before the end of the summer.

The agent was a bit unclear about what happened. But the sale just isn't happening today. 


I asked a lot of questions.

What is the next step?
What is the worse case scenario?
How can we move forward?

The house will be back on the market today.

My first house flip has so much delicious drama for my upcoming autobiography.

    this isn't bad news long-term at all. Isn't the real estate market strong? Then there will just be another buyer. It's bad news more for the buyer than ya'll the seller I think.

      @abrahamKim - I hope so Sir Abe. Time is expensive when it comes to real estate. Especially when we were just 30 minutes away from closing.
