Today, I'll write about one of the biggest problems I have. This problem confuses me every day, sometimes I get lost. 😞

But I can't stop doing this, it's impossible.

I can't close the tabs of my explorer...

I have sooooo many of it opened.

Currently, while writing these words, I have like dozens of them.

And I noticed that, I know I should close some of them.

But I'm always scared I have something more to do on this tab, or I'll forget something I shouldn't if I close it.

I think I'm not the only one.

In my opinion, there are two kinds of people, the ones that can't stand when there are more than 3 open tabs on their browser. And the others like me with 16 tabs opened at the same time, struggling to find where is the one they search for (eventually we'll open one more if we can't find it quick enough).

Please tell me if you have the same issue, and how I can manage this sickness.

I can loose minutes looking for a specific tab, when I'm sure I opened a page and I can't find it...

I already tried tools to manage tabs but I have some difficulties to use them, I probably haven't found the right one yet.

Do you have any tips or advice ?

Solve your problem in 2 steps.
    1) Install the Chrome Browser. (cmon man its 2019)
    2) Visit the chrome store an install oneTab.

    Problem solved.

Give me your address so I can send my invoice.

Actually I was thinking about a post about that, from a different perspective though (actually from a perspective of a tab could be fun :D
So, I'm with you on this tabbulent path

@vincentmaurin, you can try the chrome extensions called 'Toby' wherein you can type and search the tab you are looking for. You can save as well all of the current active tabs if you like.

@vincentmaurin I'm not sure what kinds of tabs you have open, but here's something I have been doing lately with articles I have open in my browser that I want to read but don't have the time right away! I've started using a great app called Pocket, which lets you save articles and categorize them with tags. Then, when you have time, you can go into the app and spend the time you need reading them there :) Hope this helps and good luck - I myself don't like having so many tabs open...

@davidneuman Yes Pocket ! I tried this one, it's helpful for articles but they are maybe something like 6% of my open tabs. Not a lot, thank you for the advice though :)

@vincentmaurin I'm in the "can't stand more than 3 open tabs" category :) For a simple reason: more tabs = more distractions or running thoughts in my mind, so I avoid them like the plague.

One window for each cognitive context can help. When you are working, don't work in a browser full of tabs unrelated to the tasks at hand. Maybe categorizing your tabs over different windows can help. Or just bookmark.

My tab politic is pretty simple: is it helping me now?

If yes, I keep it open. If not, I close it and will just google it again later when the need arises. I assume I'm loosing more time searching for the right tab than to just google what I want.

    Hope it helps :)

@basilesamel Yes you're probably right about distraction.

I have multiple windows with multiple browser opened, but I have the same problem on each one of them ahah.

I will really try to think about it and force me to close them, it must be a mental block ?
