I'm a last minute packer. I wait till the night before a trip to finally get started. And then it's all a rush of deciding how much is enough. Do I need so many t-shirts? How many pairs of shoes?  What's the weather going to be like?

In most aspects I lean towards minimalism but when it comes to clothes...

I'm trying to learn what's the right amount for any particular length of time. But I also want to have options and some variety. I hate that feeling of knowing you have the right clothes at home but now your stuck wherever you are and you didn't pack it.

What I've learnt so far is that a little less than what I think is enough is usually the right amount. But the anxiety of having too little is always there. It seems like it takes a lot of self-restraint and discipline to be a good packer. You have to know exactly what you need, choose a few things you want, and sacrifice the things you only think you might want.

Those "I might want this" haunt me while packing. But I'm trying to practice some self-restraint this time. Essentials first, then the rest.

Now deciding which cables and gadgets I need...
