This morning one of the close friends ping me on WhatsApp to asking for some help. She can't log in her Facebook account in the morning and find out that if try to recover her password, she not getting the email and it seems like is other people's email. Her Facebook account hacked and took over by some people.

You don't get direct help from Facebook and wait for their support might be taking too long, you need to help yourself. First, get over to https://www.facebook.com/hacked to kickstart recovering your account. Provide your email/phone to search for the account first, don't worry even your original email has changed, it will still show the account you use before.

Key in your original password, the system will let you know that's an old password, it has changed how long ago. Follow the steps; the system will ask how do you want to receive the reset password code, most likely your account email has been changed, so click on the 'no longer have access' link at the bottom. Follow the next steps "I cannot access my email", and the system will ask you to provide new email for the code.

The system will ask you to provide an ID to identify, if you want to recover your account, this has to be done, no choices. My friend is getting back her account within hours, pretty fast.

Once get back the account, check out all the login session, her account has a login session from Vietnam, so click on log off all session to make sure the hacker cannot access her account anymore. Change the Facebook email back to her email, make sure the phone part never add in any number, turn on more security feature like alert if unrecognised logins and friends to contact if you get locked out.

@knight I have no idea what they could be but i often have an impression that the hashtags are not obvious enough, that maybe there should be more of them... (well, i make fun of them here, playing with them and making them useless), but on the other hand when i look at other people writing more serious stuff here, their hashtags are pretty basic... yea...
