Of course, I had to write something about Avengers Endgame. What an experience that was. Endings are so difficult to get right, but it managed to pull it off better than I expected.

If I had to describe my feelings after the movie in one word it'd be: satisfied. I was very sceptical it could accomplish that. My expectations were a decent and fun conclusion to the story. I would've been content with that, but it managed more.

Analysing the movie critically, it has its flaws. The beginning feels rushed, it breaks some of its internal logic. But at the end of it, I couldn't care less. Which is a testament to how far satisfying your consumer can go to alleviating deeper issues. Many apps and websites start off in really rough forms, but if they delight their users enough, those thorns are hardly a deterrent. The same can be done in writing and storytelling. If you satisfy the consumer, they'll overlook minor issues. If you fail to satisfy them, every issue will be even more prominent.

I think there's a valuable lesson there for any creative. The overall experience is the most important thing. You won't intentionally leave issues in your product or creation. But if there are, leaving your consumers satisfied is the easiest remedy.

@keenencharles you're right. What a great ending well-done. Proper grief arc for the characters and for audience, and a few surprises that none of the predictions even touched. So sad it's over! 11 years.
