"Yeah don't be so airheaded," she said.
"Sorry. I won't be. Thanks."
She flashed a judging look then turned around to head back inside. What a bitch I thought... or wanted to think if it weren't for this utter surprise at how rude a waitress could be.
In fact, I couldn't recall a waiter or waitress being rude to me. Only bubbly, cheery faces came to mind. And in fact, now that I think about it, Rita hadn't been cheery with me. She had been nice, but bubbly? Nah. Strangely I liked that about her. And this other waitress who had just run out after me holding this box of food that I'd forgotten I'd even ordered. She was a fucking bitch.
Still... did it matter? Didn't it matter more that she'd cared enough to run out after me? Who cared about courtesy anyhow. I didn't. So yeah... Fuck those other typical bubbly service workers!
When I got home, I was about to stick the box in the fridge until I noticed that the food was still hot. Suddenly, I had an appetite. So instead, I scarfed it down. Greasy, salty, and peppery with just the right amount of onion and peppers in between matchstick potato slices. Yum. I ate the entire mound of hash before I ate the eggs and toast.
Then suddenly I felt exhausted. I walked over to the bedroom and fell into my bed. I must've fallen asleep even before my head hit the pillow.
