I just got home. I've been thinking all day about what to write.

I don't have anything amazing to share yet. I did notice, while listening to some podcasts, the people who do a lot of shows have quite a bit of fluency and command of the language. It's almost clear that they like to hear themselves talk.

They use very nice analogies and metaphors for things. The common, non-talking for a living, person might just say "it's like bread."

No, they have to describe the temperature of the ovens and the sweetness of the dough after the perfect rising temperature and the combination of the yeast.

It's better listening - almost entertainment.

What are you listening to? @hum is watching RuPaul's Drag show. I was listening to tech podcasts and feeling kind of disconnected.

This timer I'm setting for this run is only three minutes long and I may not make it. I only have 40 seconds left and would have to describe the secret to quickly setting a timer. Just search in the bar of your browser -- 3-minute timer. Google will provide the countdown. It's quite amazing and they are taking over the world.

You'll be here when they do. You heard it here.

( I reached 200 words in exactly 180 seconds. This note was added after. )

One minor edit.

@brianball - I would fail at this so miserably. I write many drafts over time. Revisit and finish another day... edit and re-edit before I publish. I need 3 minutes to find a comfortable position to fold my legs as I sit before I write.

There are times I get passionate and I can spit out a 200 word post. But editing so it doesn't come off as a scolding to the readers means I need to take a walk before I publish. Then there is that additional task of making it exactly 200 words while still making sense.
No way - 3 minutes would need me to have an hour to prep first.

@jasonleow - we were discussing brain washing. And I thought it could be provided as a DIY service - BrainLaundry. I.e. bring your quarters and brainwash yourself. Some just call it YouTube. ;-)

lmao love that you're documenting the time it took to write your posts.

I do totally get the sentiment you've been exploring recently. About how much can happen in what is considered an insignificant time. Four minutes can mean the world given the right circumstance. Four minutes is enough for a baby to get crushed. Four minutes is way more than enough for a house to burn down with you in it. And four minutes is eternity for that first gaze with someone who might share the future with you.

Anyways. I think what holds most people back is that they have this vision of doing what they love all the time full time... otherwise they won't do it. Like they'll claim
' I wanna write' ... but only if I had 3 hours a day free to do it
    ' I love music' ... but I'll only do/make it once I get a record deal.

Honestly, anything worthwhile is deserved to those who will do even when without the perceived means in which the craft requires. Because like you said, you can write 200 words in ~3 minutes.... and what's important here is not the literal 200 words, but the fact that when once you start, you probably won't just stop at 3 minutes and 200. You'll probably go to at least 15 minutes and maybe 800 words? And then that streak -- now this is the real streak i'm into -- will take you to further heights.

And anyone who complains that they don't have 3 or even 15 minutes, seriously needs to take a look at themselves in the mirror.

i'm not listening to anything these days, but a couple months ago I listened to every free content out there by Sam Ovens.

music wise though.. been listening to a lot of 50 cent and Lady Gaga (but only paparazzi on repeat)

@abrahamKim - did you get your 200 word credit for such a thoughtful reply? :-) I've now got Paparazzi on Spotify. Thanks for expanding on the theme of "you can totally do this in the cracks of time".

@brianball @abrahamKim REAL streak..........?? Maybe you need a team for that streak since it sounds like #Teamstreak may not be a fit for you.
