In the last two weeks, I've kept some posts private for the first time.
Not because I've written some jibberish just to keep my streak, though.
These posts are a kind of therapy for me.
Instead of ruminating about my problems, I'm writing them down.
By putting them on a page, I force them out of my head. That way, I have to finally structure my thoughts.
It has been proven that this helps. Here's the article by Eric Barker.
I find a lot of relief in that. Once the thoughts are out, my mind is so much clearer and calmer. And I fall asleep more easily.
It's almost like talking to a friend. Without the potential judgement ... but also without the great advice that could follow.
The blank page has definitely become my friend. It's always there for me when I need it. It doesn't complain or gets tired if I keep rambling on. It's very accepting.
I know for sure that I'll turn to the blank page again and again.
(Random thought: I'm rereading the Harry Potter series for fun and am now in the second book where Ginny writes into the journal and the journal writes back. Would be cool if that would actually exist and an AI would write back to you with reassurances, questions, and so on. In a good way though, not in the sinister Lord Voldemort type of way haha.)
